• Smaller children should go always with two adults.
• Matured children should be required to go with more than five kids. Guide them the exact way they have to take, and also mention that at what time they have to reach home.

• Don't allow your children to the houses that are not well lit and the absence of front porch lights on.
• Use the crossroads and never cross in the middle of the street or take a short cut through lane.
• Don't wear dark costumes, jackets, or other clothing that cannot be viewed at night.
• Purchase flame retardant costumes.
• Avoid using halloween masks that can often hinder the breathing channel as well as your child's vision. If probable, stick to face paint instead of masks.
• Maintain spiky objects at home. When running to the next house, children can fall and hurt themselves on dangerous objects, or rock it around and stab the eye out of a spectator.
• Carry an emergency screech and bring along a flash light.
• Always inspect the candy before eating.

While selecting a halloween costume for kids it is very much important to check whether it is made out of flame-retardant materials. Nowadays, the costumes are made out of this material, even though the prompt checking is necessary.

Choose a costume that is loosely fits your baby. If your child is able to walk, then select a costume that is short enough for them to walk safely in all outdoor situations.

Purchase light colored costumes for safety. At night, a dark costume is not seen well by the people. To avoid accidents, be sure your child can be seen at night. If you purchase a dark costume, put some reflective tape on the arms, legs, and back of the costume, to aid in your child's visibility.

• Without the permission of the parents they are not allowed to go into other people's homes.
• Children should never trick or treat alone. There must be safety in numbers.
• Tell them not to eat any treats till they get home and the treats have been checked.
• If you are taking a younger child out, it is needed to make a note of your name, address and cell phone number onto the back of your child's costume. If they are separated it is very easy to guide them at night.
