It began in 1990, beneath the title "Fright Nights"
but was re-christened Halloween Horror Nights the following year,
advertising it as the "second annual" event. It starts on as a 3
night event but has an abrupt growth into a 19 night event spanning
from late September through October 31. In past history, event nights
were intended for November 1 and 2, depending on the calendar days
since Friday through Sunday were the prime event nights. A sporadic
Wednesday occurs during what scare - acters dub as "Hell Week",
known for its large crowds and the boost in guest problems that
arise due to intoxication. An occasion began with one haunted maze
as well as assorted musical and magic acts, and has prolonged up
to an amount of 7 haunted mazes, and a new publication of the Bill
and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure, plus several outdoor set
pieces called "scare zones".
The event gets ended up with numerous haunted mazes
where guests walk through atmosphere that are dark and
filled with props and sets that conceal scare-acters,
whose purpose is to fright the guest through various
means, more often than not with loud noises, special
effects, or simply leaping out at the them. The scare
zones are sets built in the open outdoors that employ
free-roaming actors who usually utilize chainsaws, trash
cans, and various other props. Over the years, Halloween
Horror Nights featured a swing of "icons" or characters
with large back stories that are frequently being involved
in the event's theme, houses, or scare zones. Also used
for advertising and commercials, the event mascot often
became a favorite in the midst of the fans of the event.
Halloween enthusiasts, one of the most facets of
Halloween are the thrill of the haunt. Especially haunted
houses, horror theme parks and other overwhelming after-dark
events bring chills and thrills that you can't get anywhere
else easily. There are few Halloween enthusiasts out
there but they won't be intimate. The exhilaration of
horror is very alike to the excitement of being on a
roller coaster. It can be seen how well the two go together
when major theme parks hold Halloween events such as
Fright Fest and Halloween Horror Nights. The parks fill
with all types to have a good time the season with the
tallest vertical drops and the scariest of haunted houses.
More often than not, those who love one love the other,
and those who stray from one stray from both, and for
the same reasons.
The main feature of roller coasters and horror
attractions that make them distinct anything else is the thrill
of the rush. The adrenaline brought out in the keenness of the mysterious
one that just can't be found in daily life. Adrenaline is a hormone
released in the presence of a high-tense situation. Rocketing through
the air and running from a psycho killer with a chainsaw are the
only two conditions that will fit into this category. Adrenaline
is a kind of built-in safety device, an abrupt burst of energy to
help us get the hell out of a place, fast. Adrenaline on the rampage
in situations that the body only believes to be hazardous, even
though sensibly we know we're quite safe. Roller coasters and horror
attractions are in fact not life-threatening, but the body doesn't
know the condition.
